چکیده

The major industrial firms and academic and research institutions have started to think seriously about use and applications of semantic web technology in which information in machine-processable form can coexist and complement the current web with better enabling computers and people to work in co-operation. The semantic web technology has the potentiality to be applied in different areas. eLearning is one of the domains which may benefit from this new web technology. This paper focuses on potential uses of semantic web technology in eLearning and advantages of using ontology to describe learning materials.
